Who
has inspired you?
I'm
not sure if I'm supposed to write about something positive, but
if I am supposed to, then I guess I will go against the rules and
tell whoever reads this a very sad tale. When I was in the 7th grade,
I found out that my mother had AIDS. My sister and I thought it
was stomach cancer. She died in April three days before her birthday.
I cried a lot when she left, but I didn't let anyone witness it.
We were sent to live with my father. He was a very closed-minded
and ignorant man. My mother's dying taught me a lot of lessons --
to be open minded and accepting. When I was with my father, I began
to take notice to other women. Ironically my father hired me a math
tutor. She was 19 and I was 16. We fell in love. I'm not sure if
my story relates to Intergeneration in any way, but these relationships
meant a lot and are all very inspiring.
